C G dear god , i’m writing this letter to you Dm ’cause i don’t have a clue C can you help me? C G sittin’ here , simply trying to figure out Dm what my life’s all about C can you tell me? C G i never wanted to be Dm the person you see C won’t you tell me who i am? G i always wanted to die Dm but you kept me alive C please tell me who i Am C G i lie awake conducting this symphony , Dm that you have gifted to me C but i don’t ever sleep C don’t get mad G ’cause i get weak inside Dm and i start to fall apart C ’cause i feel nothing ( same as before ) i never wanted to be some kind of comic relief won’t you show me who i am? i’ve been tortured and scorned since the day that i was born but i don’t know who i Am C G C and i thank you now for everything G sorry i’m so frightened about all of this Dm C oh i wish i could give you more G but all the lights are shining down on me Dm C and i feel intimidated by it all C G i never wanted to be Dm the person you see C but thank you C G oh god please tell me now Dm are you disappointed are you proud? C haven’t i done everything , everything? ( same as above ) i’m so sorry i’m so weak and i’ve turned into a freak but i don’t know anything , anything! i’ve lost all self - esteem a million and everything and i feel nothing , nothing! oh god please tell me now god please help me now cause i feel nothing!
